You should not hit the lock button with any of the doors open. It conflicts with the factory central locking computer and you'll have to cycle the locks manually through the door or trunk. Thatt applies for the alarm and keyless entry as it remembers whether or not the car should be locked or unlocked. -
hmm just went out to work on it some more and it started auto-arming itself after 20 sec even with the jumper on "JP 1" inside controller , had to unplug main connector and plug back in and that stopped ......Leave a comment:

so im in the process of installing my e46 key style alarm today and am having issues with the alarm side this is how i have it wired at this time
red to constant batt voltage ,black to ground ,white from the four pin connector (listed as "on") to switched voltage key in acc or run position.both browns to left and right turn signal wires at C202 connector at column. on the central locking section i have both yellows run to ground and white to the ylw/blu at central lock controller (down/lock ),and white/blk to gn/blu at central locking controller (up/open) .when i try to connect blue from 4 pin connector (listed as "door neg triggered) to door jamb pin ground it triggers the alarm for 30 seconds with the alarm set to on or off .if alarm is set to "off" the siren doesnt sound just the lights flash (30 sec),if alarm is "on" lights flash and siren sounds (again 30 sec),it will do this every time the door is opened (blue wire grounded) even with key on .....stops as soon as door is closed?
other issue is with alarm off every time i turn ignition key on to acc/run position the turn signal flash 4 times ,the alarm doesnt sound .from reading the manual the only time i can find that it flashes lights 4 times is the reminder function to arm the system which i would think would occur key off door opened and then closed ?
i have tried disconnecting shock sensor with no change and tried multiple combinations of key on door open /closed to no avail i also did jumper "JP 1" inside unit to turn off auto-arming with no change also.i dont have anything else hooked up at this time.
the door lock functions beautifully if you hit lock with doors open it knows it cannot lock doors but will cycle the lock motors but door lock stay in open position. if you hit unlock with door open (locks already in unlocked position) it wont even cycle the motors . with all doors closed it locks nicely and sets alarm(led starts flashing) ,unlocks nicely and turns off alarm(led goes off)
so any input is welcome at this time,is this normal or is something not set rightLast edited by spdracrm3; 04-08-2012, 05:08 PM.Leave a comment:

If i get some time i will try and do a write up on the full alarm. Its just a matter of getting some free time lolLeave a comment:

The previous write ups covered just the basic lights and door lock/unlock. I've been trying to get some time to do a write up but i've been swamped with work. Now i'm off to powder coat a BBK and engine accessories, go to the post office, and section some strut tubes.Leave a comment:

got my keys and roundel stickers, just need to cut them and get to wiring :)
a writeup or link to one would be much appreciated, I really have no experience with the lock circuit in the E30.Leave a comment:

Hi,
Any luck on reprogramming the keyless with different fobs (i'm the one with two cars and two systems, but fortunately, one wife) Still love the keyless!Leave a comment:

Its just so they don't look funny. The base is so big that a standard length looks very stubby.Leave a comment:

I noticed that too, but I'm assuming you just have them cut down. Doesn't look like it'll be a problem.Leave a comment:
