APEX | 17" 4-Lug ARC-8 Pre Group-Buy Discussion Thread
So what's the deal with people being "Interested" but not Pledging?
Free Bump.
:nice:
We need interested enthusiasts to pledge now to keep the momentum going! With 3 days left on the clock we have 65 wheels pledged for; 36 in favor of the 17x8.5 et20, and 29 in favor of the 17x8 et25. Keep in mind we must meet our minimum production requirement for each sku to get produced, so everyone’s participation is vital to the Group Buy’s success. It’s still very possible both sizes get produced as we historically get 50% of checkouts in the last 1-2 days.
If you are waiting to pledge because you have questions about the product, please contact an APEX product specialist today. This is your one opportunity to get your hands on these lightweight, E30 specific, flow-formed wheels, so let's finish this deal out strong!
Ryan what is the required minimum for them to go into production?

Great question. Keep in mind the current Group Buy page was built out specifically for the pre-existing 17x8 et25 wheel. This was prior to our decision to add the 17x8.5 et20 concave wheel which was requested by the community, therefore the graph depicts a 50 wheel minimum. We have sales history and a general familiarity with the pre-existing 17x8.5 et25, therefore the minimum requirement is slightly lower then that of the new concave 17x8.5 et20.
Minimum Requirement to go into Production:
17x8 et25 - 50 units
17x8.5 et20 concave - 80 units
We would love to be able to offer the E30 community an APEX solution, therefore we have been nimble in regards to our participation requirements. Our factory will require us to produce a larger quantity then what is listed above, however we are okay with stocking some of these units so that future customers have the ability to purchase the product, and/or for current Group Buy customers to purchase spares at a later date. Of course by lowering the production requirements for our customers, it also gives the Group Buy a greater chance for success. Ultimately, once the Group Buy closes out and we have a final count, we will make the decision to produce one sku, both, or none at all.
Let's get those pledges in so we do not have to worry about minimum's!
Any issues fitting these amazing wheels on an Air Lift Front and Rear Suspension?
This is admittingly outside of our scope of expertise, however assuming air ride takes up more inner clearance then your average coilover, you may need to use spacers.
Here's something to consider for everyone who is actually wanting to purchase wheels. If you look at the past group buys, it is pretty consistent that from all the people that show interest, only around half actually pledge. If we are currently at 214 wheels total for the two groups, if you split that in half, each group has around 107 wheels for interest. If you take half of that, only about 50 something wheels will get pledged for each group. I think the best way to get some wheels and get some sort of discount would be to go for the $50 discount and hope enough people jump on to hit the $100 mark. Otherwise, if you're at a higher level, you may get dropped from the list and the level ends up too low to make any wheels, or no discount. Just something to think about.

I think that's a great way to look at it. The E30 community as a whole is likely on a tighter budget than, say the E90 guys. While some may not have the funds specifically in a 1-week window, I bet if they were stocked and had the ability to buy them in the near future, most could make that happen.
Thanks for working with our dysfunctional group to the extent that you have so far!
I can swing these wheels, but I've decided it's irresponsible at this point in time. (Didn't think I was getting them until 3 days ago so I'm not messing up your numbers anyway)
I am gonna be super bummed if the concaves don't go through...I'm still baffled by people that say they are interested, but then when it's time to pay they disappear.
Come on guys!! Make this happen! Little over a day left.
Apex, what happens if the quantities aren't met? The wheels just go away? Or does the group buy extend?
