    Got one side in.
Plenty of cutting on the shield with the dremel, but got it on and the 16" Hartge's fit just fine.

    Start

    Size Comparison

    Rotor On!

    Caliper on!

Wheel on (tentatively -- haven't bled yet)

Plenty of clearance on the barrel side

Only a few mm clearance on the spoke side, but that is plenty!

I am away at a track weekend. Just checking the pictures. I suggest you put that rotor/hat combo on the other side. When spinning, the rotor shall draw air from the center toward the outside. ;-)

Also, the pads that you are using seem different than the ones I have received and tested. They look way closer to the hat than my pictures. Did you simply put the pads in the caliper, and not inserted them in the retaining pin? Also, don't forget to fit the optional bridgebolts that came with the calipers as they make the calipers stiffer. they usually are an option that I included for free.

I was waiting on your response. :-) I noticed the rotor after I went back out for the other side. I also put the pads in the retaining clip and put on the through bolt.
        Thanks bud! Enjoy the weekend.

Whats the best way to get the fittings to not leak? I didnt use teflon tape on the brake line to fitting and it leaks. It looked like the surfaces should mate up like normal brake lines. also how tight can the fitting be screwed onto the caliper? right now one of them is a little tighter than i could do with my hand. Its either there or aother revolution, and i feel like that would strip it.

Teflon tape must be used on the fitting-to-caliper. It must be screwed very firmly. Remember it is an "npt" thread. The brakeline-to-fitting requires no teflon tape as it is a regular bubble flare.

If in doubt for any of the above concerns, either have an experienced mechanic help you, or a good friend/wrencher.

Just had the first road test, the brakes seem great! And they clear my 15" basket weaves no problem. Is it ok to run the included spacers with the stock lug bolts? on the track?

Can you recommend a failry dust free pad to go with this setup? how are the BP20's on dust?

As long as the stock lugs use all of the hub's thread, you are fine.

I'd be happy to see some pictures of your kit fitted so that we can see what wheels work.

Where's the "rub"? Behind the spokes or on the barrels? If you run wheels with et25, then won't thin spacers (3mm, 4.5mm) solve the problem?

The rub is right on the edge of the caliper behind the mesh. I doubled up the spacers you included, so a 6 mm spacer would be good, except my RSs have about 5 mm of taper on the hub bore, so that the 6 mm of spacer, and the taper, my wheels dont center. I have asked all of the "custom" spacer/adapter makers on a few forums, but they dont seem to be able to get their minds around a spacer with an intergal taperd centering ring. And i am trying to avoind VWesque poke, so something thick enough to have a hubcenteric lip is too thick.

The fix is easy. It is possible to fit a flat 6mm spacer (or thicker) as long as a "hub extender" is also used. Turner makes them for e36 hubs and other big 6, and they can be done for e30 hubs.

Now I just need to find ones that fit the E30

Just have the hub extenders custom made.
