This is why when it comes to exterior pieces my philosophy is oem or nothing. Pay to play, there is a reason the original pieces cost more.
Make no mistake, the business practices here are shameful.Leave a comment:

I disagree. Making a CF part fit as it should doesn't cost anymore $$ than making a CF part that doesn't fit.I haven't bought anything from them yet but am looking at there fender flares. Seems as though people get butt hurt because the molds are not perfect.
Well if you want them perfect it will cost you more and as said before, if the price was higher you might as well buy the original thing. I have never seen a FB or CF replica fit properly, that might just be coincident, but if I ever do buy something in FB or CF I would never ever expect it to be a direct bolt on.
I give props to Ary for putting up with the shit he gets on this forum. Everyone knows that his stuff dose not match up perfect, so if you have a problem with that then go somewhere else. Man the fuck up, and stop winning like a little girl.
I've made plenty of FG and CF parts. Once the mold is made every part coming out of it should be identical...and fit.Leave a comment:

understandably, but we all know that DTM's stuff needs some "massaging" so don't come here and complain about it when it dose not fit perfectly. It would be nice to know why these kits are not a perfect match. That way everyone can understand why this is the way it is.Leave a comment:

When you're paying 495 dollars for a pair of "plastic" front fenders, you would hope it fits perfect.I haven't bought anything from them yet but am looking at there fender flares. Seems as though people get butt hurt because the molds are not perfect.

Fiberglass maybe but cf stuff should be a good fitI haven't bought anything from them yet but am looking at there fender flares. Seems as though people get butt hurt because the molds are not perfect.

As long as people give money to Ary to make awful pieces he will continue to produce them. The kits are terrible, every car I see in person with one of those shows up at the pick and pull a few months later.
Yes they require modification and still look bad when done, unfortunately the cost of unmodifying is usually higher than the cost of starting over with a new e30.
DTM fiber doesntwerks is the equivalent of bad Honda stuff and 99% of e30's equipped look just as bad as chopped up civics from the same era.
But, I think that pfeba is the only company that made proper body kits. Even the ACS and Alpina originals are missing something.Leave a comment:

Dam ive never had any bad experience from Ary.. Everyone has told me to stay away but i always like to give people a chance and ive bought allot of parts from them and never a problem...
I have dtm carbon mirros, mtech 2 front and rear valance, evo flap, esm fender flares, and e30 Evo lip...none with any fit or finish problem... :(Leave a comment:

The real trick is how to balance that and still be able to pay for normal operating expenses (rent/permits/production/payroll/food for family). If ESM redid all of their molds to extremely accurate fitment, would he then be able to sell enough of them (at a higher cost) to still be able to stay in business. At what point (in regards to either end of the buying/selling spectrum) do you draw the line and say "enough is enough".
For an example of the opposite spectrum, we sold a camshaft to a gentlemen who emailed back and claimed it wasn't the correct one. We asked for some pictures of the measurements and he emailed back some picture showing, indeed, the lobes heights were incorrect. However, the cam wasn't even ours! in the background of his photo there was our camshaft, snapped in half.
To speak about this in absolutes (white and black/ right and wrong) is difficult when the middle ground is always shifting. If anyone actually does find a magic prescription they'll end up a millionaire (and please pm me how!).
I'm NOT taking sides here, just observations about the aftermarket business.Last edited by SkiFree; 01-28-2012, 07:18 PM.Leave a comment:

Some businesses just worship the dollar is all.Seems a lot of shady figures have came to light in the e30 crowd recently and honestly it scares me. I've always trusted the e30 peeps as we all have close to the same mindset with our cars but thats starting to change. I pray things like this stop happening for the sake of the community and reputation, This isn't the Honda crowd.Leave a comment:
