I absolutely agree with you, his friends should give him a chance. In Mike's case, he gave him a second chance through PMs and e-mails. Gave him third chance through this thread. Gave him fourth chance through PayPal. On top of all of that, seller abused his status.

How many chances should a person have to do the right thing?

Again, let other mods and admins deal with their friendship, but this is about a seller and not a friend.

i never said mike and tom were friends... i said you'd hope a chance would be given to a friend, or anyone in toms shoes. over the severity of the charges, i think 4 chances are very generous. you might think over generous, which i can see where your coming from, but that's a matter of opinion. I personally wouldn't want to have to turn it over to the police unless absolutely necessary, and this is that point.

I agree with your actions, especially since your trying to use the missing money to buy another bumper. If he was so disconnected from technology, it should have / could have been disclosed ahead of time. I also agree that it was not very respectable to PM / email saying you'd be willing to issue a refund instead of just doing it. Still shady stuff, good luck on getting your money back and finding a good bumper.

I think I was fair enough by trying to contact Tom through phone, PM, email, paypal, forum members, police and then more pm's and forum members. Still have I heard anything since last Friday. I have given him more then enough time to take care of this.
When he was on last friday and after he sent me a PM back and tried to delete/hide this thread he should have refunded my money. you know the money that I sent him for a bumper that was straight, dent free, no major damages or scrates, no missing or broken trim.
What I asked for and what he said he had wasnt even close to what it was suppose to be when it arrived. He just straight up lied out his ass and took my money not even thinking twice about how it was going to affect me in any way.
I tried to be a nice guy and clearly give him more then enough time and a fair chance to refund my money, of course I still havent seen it. Im not going to sit back and get ripped off like this and I hope after other forum members see this thread and realize they shouldnt let it happen to them either.
Like the whole deal going on with mattdk318i, and people waiting 3-4-5 months far parts to get there car back on the road. In that time he should have either sent parts, refunded money since he has been on more then enough times to make it happen.
Maybe now the people who are still waiting on them parts will take the right actions to press charges on him also. Maybe when other sellers see this thread they will realize that it isnt a smart idea to rip people off, you fuck around and rip the wrong person off you will just have to pay what comes along with it.
In this case, Tom is going to have to refund me my money or refund me my money, pay for plain/ car trip to Williamsport, Pa, pay for a lawyer and then pay fines.
He can choose, Simple as that.

no offese but there is a ton of talking and it seems like idle threats. if your going to press charges and try to go through the cops then do it. he has given more then enough proof that he isnt going to respond or refund. 90% of the time police will do nothing. paypal will also not refund as you have seen. there is really nothing you can do and it seems like he knows that.

Thats where you are wrong as there is something I can do. I already spoke with the police and already have everything worked out.

Yeah.... people who don't believe they can't take action against being ripped off, are blind and just followers of other people's mistakes... If you're persistent and have your ducks in a row, there's no reason someone will legally get away with basically stealing your money. You have to grow a pair and not give up when someone tells you no just because they don't wanna do more paperwork.

I don't really have anything to add here, but I did purchase a sunroof panel from Mike a few weeks ago. It came quick, packaged well, and was exactly as described. I hate to see this happen to anyone, let alone a good member/seller. Somebody make some phone calls and get this guy his money back already.

Nope, Still havent heard from him at all. I even sent a PM to James since he had good luck contacting him last time and James didnt reply to me either.
I already talked to the police early last week and they are going to transfer everything down to Toms home town and see what happens from there.

I've been busy.

I've called him and asked him twice to post here, does not seem very concerned although he did say he was working on it.

I'm fucking tired of playing both sides of this. I've already talked to him three times about it.
