    Crank bolt install

I've got my M50 almost fully put back together after stroking it and just got a new crank bolt. When installing and torquing it, is there a specific time I need to torque it or can I just go ahead and torque it with the engine on the stand, no flywheel, clutch, etc.? Also, to prevent the crank from spinning I assume I just need a friend and crankshaft pulley holder?

This is for sure a dumb question but I am a total freshman at this and don't want to mess anything up

You're going to need a 3/4" drive torque wrench. Crank bolt spec is ~300ft.lbs going from memory.

I also made my own crank holding tool out of a spare pulley and piece of old bedframe.

A friend won't help, what you need is a solid surface to brace the crank holding tool against.
