Stripped the motor down to assure everything is on correctly and got to clean the motor and its components as well as the transmission.

koole30 does paint and bodywork for anyone who cares and needs services. He will be painting my car (hopefully for my efforts ) and I'll show case the great quality of his skills.

I started assembling the motor hopefully to have it in by this weekend.

What do you use to clean the block, acceories, and head? How ever or whatever you use works really well. Both of your swaps look very clean. I'm in the process of cleaning my block and accessories now but decided to have the head rebuilt.

i didnt have the luxury of chemicals to clean my motor before install, but i did have a 3100psi pressure washer which did very nicely

A pressure washer. But used correctly.

I bought this because I like things clean so it was a must have.

Yup. That's what I used on both my swaps.

I went to the junkyard to grab couple more things. I got the brake booster and new oil pan. Gotta clean them up. Still need to get the transmission brace, and couple of wiring stuff. Looking good so far!

hella! i did my whole engine bay under the car, the e34 oil pan and the m50(prior to removal of e36 pan) turned out great...sad part is a month after the swap my oil filter adapter gasket stared leaking so now the oil pan, rack, steering, trans, under body are all coated in 10w-40 again...tragic

Haven't updated in a while because not much work was done due to this weather. But I'm full steam ahead with minimal parts need to have a complete finished car. I will be slapping the motor and wiring harness together and putting it in tonight. Still missing the manual transmission brace for a late model e30. If anyone local has one I could have or possibly buy for cheap please let me know. No late model 5 speed e30s in the junkyards so let me know! On to the pictures.

                      E34 Oil Pan on.

NGK Platinum Spark plugs and coil bolted down

Customized e30 temp sensor. Shaved down and threaded to fit into coolant feed hole in s52 head.

E32 Double stack booster + Master Cylinder + E34 M50 Throttle Cable Installed. Still need to buy brake line hoses and nipples to make the remote reservoir and possibly the 2002 reservoir.

That's all for right now. Will update later tonight.

Well, customized the obd1 wiring harness bracket, put the flywheel/clutch/pp on, put the transmission/fork/slave cylinder on.

Things that need to be done before I throw the motor in the engine bay:

                          - Weld obd2 manifolds for obd1 application
                          - Connect wiring harness + vacuum lines
                          - Find a e36 power steering reservoir bracket

Still quite a few stuff to get (ahem koole30) but she should be up and running very soon.
