I am curious as how you are able to figure out a solution that has eluded many major shops for the past few years.

Will your setup keep double vanos? I'm quite interested but want to see the end result before plunking down money.Comment

Basically when you get your s62 there will only be 4 plugs on the harness of the 5 spots on the ECU. That empty spot is x60004 and is a 40 pin connector. This serves as the connection for the MSS54 to the car. There is also a white plug x6011 that is a 12 min connector. You need to create a harness that plugs into x60004 and splices into x6011 and then go to c101. on top of this you will need to add the "start" relay that is needed as well as splicing c101 pin 15 to terminal 30h on the starter. There are other ways to jury rig it so it works but this is how the wiring is supposed to be. Also in the US spec s62/54 you done have a standard fuel relay per say. Due to the high fuel demand for the s62 the ECU pulse width modulates the fuel pump at engine speed. This is good since less fuel gets sent to the engine then back to the tank. Its bad since if you used a standard relay it would sound like a tiny helicopter in your engine bay (it was fin scary). SOOO the s62/54 uses a solid state relay in the trunk area. you need this relay and to wire it in properly.
Here is a quick and dirty run down of the pins. this is from memory so I think I may be forgetting some of the unused pins. this assumes a '89 325is c101

Notes:
The PWG can be either the hall sensor in newer cars or the pots from the older cars. They are interchangeable and out put the same signals on the same pins. The hall sensor module is easier to fit in the e30.
You loose the CEL, the oil level sensor, and service light reset. You can wire in the oil level sensor and you can get tricky and wire in the service reset into an empty OBD connector pit and just jump it like you would in the e30 diag connector. The CEL you are kinda SOL but you can pull codes from the OBD plug.e30sport.net

Ummmm.... doesn't this swap require either a switch to S50B32 T/Bs and tuning or a complete and total rewire of the car to work with drive by wire and E46 TCS?1987 BMW 325is | Frankenmotor S50 | Supersprint Replica Headers | K&N Intake | Gutted Stock Midpipe | Zimmermann Rotors | Stainless Brake Lines | Porterfield Racing PadsComment
