Interest in s54/s62/etc. plug-n-play?

The main thing the s62 has over an s54, other than power, is the sexy exhaust note! The factory s54 sounds like a cat being killed by a chainsaw. :shock:

I agree, I've never really heard an E46 M3 that sounded good. But then, I've never heard any M/S50/52's that sounded all that great, either. Something about them just sounds too ricey.

But then, that white S62 E30 sounded meh, too. Not loud enough and/or not "angry" enough, lol.

Maybe I'm just a fan of pushrod v8's, lol. ;)

It would be sweet, though, if the OP was still going to reprogram the ECU's.

I wonder what the impact of CAN on the cluster would be. Would rpm and all the warning lights be encoded in the CAN signal?

Warning lights yes, not sure about the other signals.

Well, I should say that other signals are encoded in the CAN signal, but the cluster may have other ways of picking them up also that an e30 cluster may be able to work with.

Yeah, same mounting as the N62 so Tino would have it already.

Definitely one of the better ones I've heard. Most M/S swaps I've heard sound too raspy and high pitched. Doesn't sound good at all. Everyone else seems to like that kind of sound, though, so I guess I'm in the minority.

Yours does sound good for an s54. However, it's much rarer to find a good sounding s54 vs. the s502/s52s
