do i need to use a charcoal cannister?

Or can ijust put a hose that TB nipple and just let it vent?

you don't need to but there's no reason not to - it helps fuel economy with no real detriment to performance.

I'll see if I still have mine first. Also there's a check valve in that line with a sensor. I don't have that check valve. Will it do anything if I don't have that plugged in on my engine harness?

no, it only opens when the ECU grounds it. It's to vent pressure from the fuel tank. the tank can apparently implode from suction.. although mine isn't connected to anything and it hasn't been a problem.

You may get a code if you don't have the solenoid hooked up.

wonder if an E30 solenoid would work? it's just a 2-pin, ground to open valve.

The ECU needs to see some current flow. I don't think it really cares through what. :)

Can I use anything that plugs into the connector. Or does someone happen to have one of these check valves around for sale?

It needs to see around .05 amps of flow.

Use a 100Ohm, 2 watt power resistor wired in place of the solenoid and it will keep the ECU happy.

Just install the canister? I think you'll find a ton of people will sell you one for little to nothing if you post a wanted ad on here.
