    s50 no starty

okay tried cranking it and nothing. I don't hear the buzz of the ICV or the pump going on maybe that's just me though. Its not getting spark or fuel tried to jump fuel relay still got nothing. I also don't have a CEL on. I have a 413 ecu with the stock chip still in it. Anyone have any thoughts? How do I check pins on the harness adapter?

What chassis? Who's adapter? was it made for this car or a blanket batch of cars. Do you have voltage at the Ecu? There has been NUMEROUS 24V non starts and the same questions are asked each time. Please review some of the last few no start threads.

Did you hook the relays up properly. The wires coming off the harness that goto the battery junction, one of them is ground. Also, is the engine grounded?

its a 89 325i. The adapter was made from someone on here. I checked other threads and I've checked common things like plugs and fuel lines everything is connected up right. Relays are correct and they are grounded, so is the engine.

How do I check if the ecu is getting power?

And also after cranking the engine I can hear the evap valve and it sounds like air is coming out of it is this normal?

From what Ive been reading, I believe you need either a silver 506 or a aftermarket chip if using a 413 for an s50b30us engine. But I think it should run even with a stock red label 413, maybe a little rough?

It's not a silver label 413 dme is it? Most of the silver ones have the ews immobilizing system worked into them which will cause you to not get spark or fuel as stated.

I have a red label 413. I am pretty sure I have things connected right I have the ground on the passenger side and the one from the engine is also grounded on the same side. The fuse box is getting power. And it cranks really good so the starter is all hooked up good.

So it should be the DME? Is there a way to tested without having to find a new one?

You said in the first post, "okay tried cranking it and nothing." That to me means the engine doesn't not turn over at all, nor did you get a relay noise or a fuel pump.

Now it's turning over? What did you change or did you fail to convey the engine was turning over?

No it's not, because by his definition the starter was cranking but the engine was not turning over.

And if the crank doesn't turn then of course you gonna not get fuel nor spark.
