okay tried cranking it and nothing. I don't hear the buzz of the ICV or the pump going on maybe that's just me though. Its not getting spark or fuel tried to jump fuel relay still got nothing. I also don't have a CEL on. I have a 413 ecu with the stock chip still in it. Anyone have any thoughts? How do I check pins on the harness adapter?

What chassis? Who's adapter? was it made for this car or a blanket batch of cars. Do you have voltage at the Ecu? There has been NUMEROUS 24V non starts and the same questions are asked each time. Please review some of the last few no start threads. -
its a 89 325i. The adapter was made from someone on here. I checked other threads and I've checked common things like plugs and fuel lines everything is connected up right. Relays are correct and they are grounded, so is the engine.
How do I check if the ecu is getting power?
And also after cranking the engine I can hear the evap valve and it sounds like air is coming out of it is this normal?Last edited by spaceshuttle; 12-28-2010, 05:07 PM.Comment

I made the adapter and it was tested and worked. are you sure you have the power/gound cables connected correctly? dead battery? know good dme?Comment

I have a red label 413. I am pretty sure I have things connected right I have the ground on the passenger side and the one from the engine is also grounded on the same side. The fuse box is getting power. And it cranks really good so the starter is all hooked up good.
So it should be the DME? Is there a way to tested without having to find a new one?Comment

You said in the first post, "okay tried cranking it and nothing." That to me means the engine doesn't not turn over at all, nor did you get a relay noise or a fuel pump.
Now it's turning over? What did you change or did you fail to convey the engine was turning over?Comment

pic of said ground and battery + connectionI have a red label 413. I am pretty sure I have things connected right I have the ground on the passenger side and the one from the engine is also grounded on the same side. The fuse box is getting power.
