With reference to the AKG setup above, I have the same setup.

I think you will find yourself going insane from the gearbox noise with solid gearbox mounts.

I would run AKG's cupped E21 rubber trans mounts and their solid engine mounts. This way engine not going to move, hence gearbox neither BUT your gearbox doesnt transmit every single noise to the chassis.

I do this with the DTM shifter and it stays in place, doesn't pop out of gear and I don't have gearbox whine.

Trust me, solid gearbox mounts in anything but a full race car is ANNOYING AS HELL. Louder than any exhaust drone or intake or resonance. Regardless of RPM, you will have shitty, annoying gearbox NOISE with solid mounts

You didn't put anything between the shifter plate and trans tunnel did you? You can eliminate a lot of the noise if you put aluminum tape(foam/tar backed) in between. You can also cut the shift boot so that it's only a ring sandwiched between the plate and body. You could even go a step further and do the same to the trans crossmember and isolate it from the chassis with the same aluminum tape.

just called too - and i was told 3 weeks? sounds like the run around - UUC isn't inspiring much confidence

I hope this run around stuff is not true..Im waiting at least 5 weeks.

UUC has always done right by me.....but sumthin is up w/ these DSSRs causing such ongoing delays.

I'll chime in ... the dssr that I received had the 10* rotation counterclockwise not clockwise (as viewed from the rear):o I sent photos to Rob he said oops they were a month out min to replace it. this was about 3weeks ago.
I ended up having a friend twist it 20* ( cold no heat)to correct it.
But installed it does work well.
So if your buy one check the rotation !! and don't leave it in the box for a month before you want to install it !

I ordered one about a week or so ago and its still on backorder. I just called to see whats up and the guy I spoke with said the shipment will arrive in about two weeks. So after that they will start shipping. Not sure about any group buys though.

So UUC can make brakes in house but can turn out a simple shift selector rod in less then 30 days to fix something that they fucked up

Sounds like UUC really goes above and beyond for their customers...

I ordered one of these about a month ago. First I was told 7-10 days until they're ready. The same day, a different employee told me 2-3 weeks. I have since cancelled the order, but obviously they're still not available.

It would be nice if they didnt just make up a time frame and were honest. "we have no idea when they'll be ready."

I'd respect honesty much more than being given false hope. The products are nice, the service isn't great.
