Just to try to throw a little confusion into everyones head.

I am currently swapping an M50NV into my 92 325ic so I don't know how that's going to turn out but i know for sure that I have the exact problem as seen in the video on page 1 in my stock 1995 M3.

Nothing has ever been done to the motor. E36 harness, E36 chassis.

Figure this out and I can fix my E36 and make sure my E30 doesn't do this either.

trackjunkie, you said you replaced your Crank sensor and Cam sensor since the issue started?

I've tested so many things that I can't remember if I tested those or not. Looking through the wiring diagrams, the Cam sensor seems to give input for a lot of components in the car.

Also, the more I think about it, my car is essentially in "closed loop" for 9 minutes.

Guys found the problem? I have the hunting idle when I come to a stop or car is on neutral. It stops after 10sec. though

Well i haven't checked the o2 relay, I suck lol but I have noticed that my vss signal is getting to the ecu when car is cold, idle raises and drops as it should, once it warms up it starts acting up, hmmm

Just think aloud again, but it seems that all of us who are having this issue have just a cone filter at the end of the MAF. Not saying that is the issue it's just a bit odd, tis all.

Doesn't tell the O2 relay to turn on sooner

That is an interesting co-incidence, I even get a MAF code because of the placement of my filter, or at least I think that's why, I'm running a 3.5" HFM with matching software. have swapped MAFs to no avail.

For what it's worth I haven't been able to get the stomp test to work since about a week after I got the swap running either. The only way for me to read codes is with the Peake scanner through the diagnostic port.

I've just been driving the mother for a year and enjoying it. It's funny I forget about all the issues until I start writing about it.

I have a 3.5 MAF with a cone filter so the theory of those being the cause are out.....

As we've fixed things on our cars over the last few weeks, I'm not so sure we're having the same issue...

I checked power at pin30 on the 02 relay, it's the one closest to the driver correct? First think i start the car, their is power at pin 30.

no, mine idles smooth as silk and never hunts for idle.

I go back to asking about the vacuum hoses. Are they new? or are you all re-using old ones? I used all new hoses. How is the ICV clip where it goes to the intake? I know those are notorious for breaking.

what about the adjustment screw on the throttle body? fiddled with that at all?

mine did idle rough with the stock S50 chip but that's pretty much because of the lightweight flywheel. I now have a TRM chip and it's perfect.

I suppose it depends on how you mounted your relays. :)
If you mounted them inside E30 M3 harness closeouts like I did, then yes, it's the pin closest to the driver.
