ABS delete or keep

Delete ABS to make engine bay "cleaner"??? A better idea would be removing your front calipers to make your wheels look cleaner.
Call your insurance agent and ask him/her what they think. I'm pretty sure that in certain (maybe all) circumstances this will void your insurance, if discovered.sigpic

IMP. The ABS is a great function, keep it. If not, just make sure to drive carefully or else above will happen. I'm not speaking from a spectator's stand point, and since you've obviously made your decision, my experience has no bearing in what you want to do
I would love to see how clean your engine bay looks with the front end crunched in and the engine pushed back a foot

I will throw in my .02 only because I used to be under the impression that I was an awesome driver, and I didnt need ABS on the dry street or dry track.
My track experience up to that point was always without ABS. So my recent e30 i built (s52/m3 brakes) it was nothing to me to just get rid of it..
Until I became a better driver.. I then noticed myself braking later, and pushing harder. And not only locked up on track a few times but also flat spotted two sets of race tires which really sucked.
Ive recently bought another e30 to race with (m42), this was the first car ive driven hard on track with ABS.. Being a momentum type of car I was braking later, and able to push the car alot harder.. Doing things I could never do with no ABS..
I dont care who you are, or how good of a driver you think you are, IMO you are always short changing yourself without it on track.
The street is a totally different story and all depends on your driving habits.
Me personally i drive very passive, and always leave myself room.. So if youre like me you can easily do without it.. If youre an asshole on the road and it happens to rain alot where you are then... yea.-Jay

it's amazing how people survived before ABS... If you want a clean engine bay, delete. There's already insurance implications with a motor swap. On a technical level, it's possible to stop faster on dry pavement without ABS but ABS is generally better on any loose debris/low friction surfaces. You shouldn't be flat spotting tires in panic situations, instead you *pump* the brakes. Old skool. ABS is certainly more intuitive, but by no means necessary.
Oh yeah, and I personally don't care about A/C. I don't use it in my 540 (I don't even have the belt on the compressor right now and it works, lol) and deleted it in the e30.1997 540i/6 - stock
