What did you trap? what was your 60-ft? What size slicks were you running?

Car is built for parking lot/track tho. So I'm not too concerned about a 1/4 mile time. There isnt much car out there <$50k that can keep up with mine at speed though.
I also have no weight over the ass end, no trunk trim, removed trunk tar, removed rear seat, removed belts, door panels, stock seats replaced with corbeaus, exhaust is super light.
After I get comfortable with mine I'm building the head and hopefully installing sunbelts. But I'd like to swap to the ZF and longer gears.
A 260 with a 3.73 is equivalent to a ZF w/ 2.93. Your gearing will only get shorter by going with the ZF, unless you drop down to a 2.79 or 2.73 (can't remember which it is).
As for the question of the low 24v times, it's the chassis itself. The reason why e36 guys put down better times is that their rear suspension is a much better set-up. Plus e36 m3s have wider wheels/tires, less excess weight transfer, etc. They were built around that motor. An e30 was not, and therefore we must compensate for more to make it handle the power as well.
I messed with my suspension alot to get it fairly neutral for different types of driving. I'm running street compound Poly RTABS and rear subframe bushings, which made the ass end kick out much worse. I switched from a 700# rate coilover spring to an e36 m3 eibach sport (420#), and it made it handle & launch better in every respect.
Remember stiffer is not always better. Along with my 235/40/17s and a 100+ lb sound system, I can launch my car very well in the street. I also launch my car at a fairly low rpm because of my 3.46 rear end, at around 2300. I slip the clutch just a bit and I end up with minimal wheelspin in first. I know things are much worse on the track, so I will have to see how it goes when I finally make it.Last edited by e30polak; 11-04-2009, 07:43 PM.

Probably a lot has to do with the person behind the wheel and tires/gearing....

a fully stripped E30 with S50/52 with all the bolt on stuff should run low 12's with traction.. and the Driver mod.
i know a person with a s50 swap in a full interior car should be able to run low 13's .... the thing that just shocks me is that people are running 14's in E30 24vswaped cars.. i just dont see how. there is also just so many diff little things that can cause it. ie what trans there running and tire size and diff.
im going to be running my S50 with UUC underdrive pullys, chip, intake, full exhaust.. just like it was in my E36.. with the ZF trans, 3.25LSD, DSS 1pc e36 chromoly 3" drive shaft, 16lb flywheel 6puck unsprung clutch.
as for my E30 i have the following removed
- Radio / all wiring
- all speakers and all wiring
- Replaced the Power windows with crank windows
- Sunroof completly gone
- Check panel and all wiring gone
- Evap / heater core gone / wiring / controls
- Every interior panel is gone exept thee dash and cluster
- carpet
- sound deading shit
- all truck shit gone
- replaced factory front seats with aluminum seats
- all trunk stuff gone exept battery.

ya i know there not drag cars.. but what car is built to drag race these days..
here is a video of a guy semi local to me.. well he races at the track i do.
This E30 has a stock S52 motor/head.. it has 3.5"maf, 24lb injecters, chip, cams, underdrive pullys, full exhaust.. the only 2 things that a normal street car would not have that he does is a Tec3R and 225 drag radials..
and for the cars weight..
Re: Question on your S52 E30
1. Yes, the car as raced that day weighed in at 2705 with me in it. That is with the following items removed ,carpet, back seat , passenger front seat, spare tire, jack, both sway bars (mainly to clear the headers) insulation from trunk and interior floor,The car itself that day weighed 2550.
BTW what does your car run?

There are 2 guys who have run high 11s with around 300whp that have been discussed in this thread. I can't tell you there names off the top of my head but it's in here somewhere
