Need some wider rear tires to get the 60' down and should trap sub 13.5 and ~105-6 ;)

then can bump the gearing too and shoot for 13.2, strip some weight, dave can build you a high locking LSD and then you can shoot to go 13 even after you get the right chip setup :P

13.6 is pretty awesome with incomplete brains!!

Yeah, the tires are getting pretty slick. I'm gonna try and fit 215s or 225s just don't know if I can.

New chip and injectors are sitting at the house waiting to go on. And I did have a 3.73lsd but I do alot of highway driving. Plus I figured it would only maybe save me a couple tenths because I spin alot with that diff.

Ran a 14.2@88 mph. 60ft was 2.03 with no type of launch due to street tires. Bounced the r3v limit in 4th and coasted through the finish.

I ran my car last night at the Woodburn dragstrip. I have never gone to the strip before and my first run was my best for the night. Here is the slip.

          It was 80 degrees out.

I am very happy with the result and now that I have been to the strip I cant wait to go back.

Wow nice work! Trap speed is definitely capable of high a 12.9x! :woowoo:

Get that 60 ft. down to 1.9 and you're golden! :D:D:D

Did you drop tire pressure a bit to see if it would help at launch?

            What's your rear suspension set-up?

              That's smokin' fast! Nice work!

My first run is always the fastest, too. The harder I try to go fast, the slower I go.

Thanks guys! I didnt try dropping tire pressure. I never tried a burnout either, went around the water everytime. I went out very unprepared. I had no helmet and didnt know what the requirement for needing one was. I had to borrow one after that first run :p. I am running turner j-stock springs with bilstein sports.
Now I am curious to get the car dyno'd because the previous owner of the engine was unsure of the mods because his uncle built the s52. It didnt pull as hard as I was expecting after finishing the swap and I thought I may have overlooked something but it looks like its all good!

what have you been driving that makes you think it would be faster than it is? You should take me for a ride, I'm curious what an s52 feels like.

My daily driver is an e39 540i 6speed and at times it feels faster. I know the 540 couldnt post up a time like that though. I am much more confident in the e30 now.

                        I edged an e39 540i with my M54 and I'm a high 13 second car.

                        It's not faster.

Damn nice times! Very similar to my setup. The car feels fast but I guess I wouldn't expect it to be that deep into the 13's. Been down a drag strip a couple hundred times in different cars, some fast, others not.

I've got to get mine out there and see what it will do. Not anytime soon though as the heat around the Southeast right now is miserable and I don't want any excuses for it not putting down decent times.

BTW my set up is s52 obd1, fresh 3.46lsd, g260, need to get it weighed as well.

Two years ago I ran 14.4@94 with my m50, g260, and 3.73 LSD, car weight is 2870lb. I was using v710's which seemed to launch well but I had to run such low PSI that I think they hurt my trap speed. I was only getting 2.2 60ft's because I was dumping the clutch at 5k instead of slipping it like I should have, so the tires hooked, engine bogged, and it took off. My times were 14.4-14.7 all night.

I put s50 cams and software in, dyno'd 188whp, and this past weekend ran 14.5@95. I was using street tires, slipping the clutch, and was getting high 2.2 - 2.3 60 ft's. I was spinning in 1st a little (or a lot if I messed up the launch), spun a good 1/2 second hitting 2nd gear. My times were 14.5-14.8 all night. I'm pretty disappointed. I'd like to go back with the slicks again. But I still feel I should have been able to do better then 2.2 60' with the good high performance summer tires.

Any tips? I was holding the RPM's at 3k or so, slowly leaving off the clutch and as the car speed matched the RPM's I went full throttle. Sometimes I spun, sometimes it bogged, and I'd be close to 2.4 60'. But sometimes it seemed to work perfect and I'd still be over 2.2 60'.

perhaps lower rear tire pressures and try a 2 stage clutch launch like an AWD car?
