2man - finally following up on your thread since we last chatted. Sorry to hear about the issues. Just know you are that one that inspired me and told me it'll be worth it. I'm right with you as my runt has been sitting helpless at the mechanics since December awaiting it's M52.

When you make the journey through the SF Bay Area, stop by and let's grab some grub. Until then hang in there.

so the car is running and has a few short drives on it. My cluster decided I havent had enough bullshit to deal with so it stopped working. 3 clusters later and 3 of the 4 gauges work. which one doesnt? coolant temp. :letitout: so close....

if I have the wrong sensor in the head would that prevent it from working at the cluster? which one is the correct one? IIRC mine was light blue, not sure if thats whats in there right now.

edit: found this pic from a while ago. I think I remember reading that the sensor needed to be brown or something??

You need to use the Brown top coolant sensor. That might be all of your problem right there.

Yup, I agree. One will be there tomorrow!

There are two sensors you need, the blue one for the DME coolant temp and the brown one for the E30 gauge sensor. Hope you get it on the road soon. Stop in to PDX on your way home!

That would be this Saturday! :) Not sure I will have much time to sit around and BS, but I will have to stop around P-Town anyways for a refuel. Time to pack those titainum balls of mine to drive this car 1200 miles

The real question is do I do a burnout in the parking lot as I leave or do I want until I make it to my house?

Happy to announce the car made it from Seattle to SoCal with zero problems. I averaged anywhere from 25-28mpg depending on how fast I was going and how many times I acted like a teenager. No burnouts yet, but I did drive it on Hicks Rd (local backroad in San Jose), and Mulholland in LA on the same day. It was a good day

Im planning on dynoing it soon, but other than that its all downhill from here. Time to enjoy the car :)
