They're not that fast guys, seriously. I love my car and all, but its only just barely as quick as a bone stock 335i. Regardless, its plenty of motor for the track, and mine is done as far as engine mods go. Now just need more grip and brakes.

So a fully modded NA s52 should hang with a C5 then, right?

So what if the Carrera is rated at those "numbers". Most people who drive Porsches only do so for status symbology. They are among some of the worst (and slowest at that) drivers on the street and also at the racetrack. Even in the straight line, most dudes cannot launch their Porsche's worth jack shit.

Sweet, +1 for well rounded drivers in an e30 s52....

Probably, if by fully modded you mean cams, 24'ers, euro HFM, headers, and a good tune. My motor probably isn't making the power that it should (230rwhp-ish) with the exhaust thats on there, but it is a bit lighter than stock with no AC, no stock sound-deadening, and slider-less cobra fixed backs. Though, I think the power is falling off at higher speeds because I don't have an engine undertray.

A stock 335i makes 275hp at the wheels on the dyno. According to TMS I should be making more horsepower with better gearing and at a much lighter weight. Not to mention that the 335 isnt faster than an e46 m3 which is no problem.

Well yeah, if you're making that much power, (I kinda doubt its 275rwhp though, no offense) then you're going to dust off stock 335i's and e46 m3's without even sweating.

I myself has an S50, its fast but don't get carried away with the torque feel. It ionly has 240HP car in a slightly lighter car. Funny when people jump on the gun that it will kill a new Carrera which has same number comparisons as the 2008 M3.

I whipped the dogpiss out of a Caymen S coming down an on-ramp tonight after class, though I did get a little more exit speed on him the corner prior to the ramp.

I don't know what motor the Caymen S uses though, probably not as strong as a 911 S.

Porsche 924/944 booster is the way to go and you can use your stock E30M30 M/C. It mounts perfectly and you just have to cut down the shaft to the proper length (same threads as you E30 clevis). Don't even bother with a 320i booster.
thanks! i read about that a little while ago, there's a 944 at my local yard-time to get busy with the porsche:-)
                          944 booster it is...:-)

anyone with some video? I know I can search for some random s50/52 e30 vids on youtube, but I'd like to see the car in relation to the mods and things the owner did, and still be able to converse about it.

All I know is that a S50E30 with minor bolt-ons (3.5" HFM, chip, 24lbs, exhaust) WILL slightly pull away from E46 M3s, and run low 13s without an issue.

I'd actually love to see a 335i vs. S5xE30 race, as it sounds like they pull away from E46 M3s equally.

                                -987 Caymen/Boxster S has a 3.6 lit that is simmular to a base-model 997 Carerra, iirc. (315-ish hp?)
