That looks like a good set up. I picked up the same IE cap that you have, and I am curious as to what lines and fittings you are using. I am kind of new to this whole area and am not EXACTLY sure what I should be looking for to rig my whole system up.

That looks great. Easy to add stock cooler, just flip it around (sothe tubing is all on the left side) and run fresh lines to the adapter

I will most likely go with my Earl's oil cooler though...I have two:

Free Shipping - Earl's Performance Temp-A-Cure Fluid Coolers with qualifying orders of $109. Shop Fluid Coolers at Summit Racing.

Going to mount it soon though, just gotta come up with a bracket and placement. I have an aux fan on the condenser side and putting the oil cooler in front of it might not be too efficient. Might put it somewhere behind the valance.
Where did you end up mounting the oil cooler?

This may seem like a stupid question... but does the oil cooler fill completely with the in and out fittings on the bottom like that?

it has to.. when i'm running hard the inlet is at over 40psig. The IE cap is almost higher than the whole oil cooler so it should stay filled up too.

Any pictures of how you got it to mount behind the kidneys? Is there any room for A/C condenser and fan?

there's two bolts that go (fit) under the hood hindge horizontal bar. If you can fit an electric fan between the engine and the radiator there’s room for the condenser. Otherwise, there’s only room for pusher fan.

As far as how beneficial it is to have a cooler on these motors. I really doubt its a huge benefit on a N/A car. I would not of bothered with a oil cooler if the motor i bought didn't already come with the oil filter housing.

Here is a link that shows what i did to make the stock cooler work with the euro filter housing.

That is why it gets changed, because most doesn't equate all. I know for sure that I could never run on track without an oil cooler on the m20, s50 and def not the s54.
