Need a vanos harness. Plus the e34 had the ECU in the battery tray area, the E36 harness is long enough to reach the glove box. I helped a bud do a swap years ago, and he made a box for the e30 battery tray.

For brake boosters there are several options. You can modify the stock e30 booster to work, or use a modified e21 or 944 booster. The other options include the 325ix booster and even an e90 booster.
Hopefully this helps!
to me it looks like the 944 booster is the best one to use? Opinions?
oil pan stuff, check.
pretty lucky i bought a whole e34 for the same price of an oil pan on ebay.
garage looking like shit.

All gears felt like shit.
5th gear did not return to center.
Detent kit fixed all.
Also got a obd2 harness from an auto,
so i just cut those wires off that go down to the tranny.
have to figure out which i should use and what wires to cut ect.

Got an x3 booster but reading more about it looks like i have to slot the firewall holes and still has some fitment issues?
might not used it.
reading more looks like the e90 one bolts on and is slightly smaller. probably will use the e90 one.

i'm liking the e90 option much better.
x3 = 30.7 ''
e90 = 28''
stock = 33.5
e90 is about 1/2 '' smaller then the x3 and bolts on nice.
the 944 is bigger then the x3
but did not write it down. does not look like a good option.

I personally found the X3 easier to install then the 944.

Looks like both on the x3
Stock lines aren't in the exact location but some aggressive bending will do.
After unbolting the plate with the studs, it put the clevis (Clevis Mcfartland here) in the perfect spot!
BUT, it is too wide for the stock pin
So either use a nut/bolt
or get a custom one like this fellow here. https://www.r3vlimited.com/board/for...blow-your-mind
That's it for the x3.
X3 is pretty close to totally bolt on.
Good choice if no welder or grinder.

e90.
Clevis/rod is too short.
BUT, if u weld on the e30 clevis on top of e90 clevis, boom, that's it.
I had to grind maybe a mil off the perch to put it where I want it.
The lines you have to fk with anyway, so i'm sticking with the e90 making some new ones.
also you have to slice off some sound deadening because it mounts alittle flusher then x3..
Best 2 booster options. delete all 944 and 320 booster threads pls.

i'm ashamed at how demotivated i am but this is why i made the thread.
first time bending lines so they're sorta wonky.
i used a m12 nut that uses the 3/16 line. bleed and no leaks..
also, fyi V is front, H is rears.
moving on to the engine finally.
