That must be a blast in an e30!

Or it could be like my old car - was an auto to manual swap, and the speed sensor was never hooked up. After getting rid of the TMS chip with the speed sensor delete, I got fuel cut at 6200.

I thought it was too quick of a drop for it to be a fuel issue.

I'm not expert, but I'd agree with this. It looks like at 6249 it's making 190whp, and at 6250 it's making 155whp. It it was a fuel pressure issue, I'd think it would be more gradual. It might be fuel being cut, but I think it's a controlled cut, not a pressure issue...

Could it be a tune issue? Guy at the dyno said it might be but he highly doubted it.

It could be. Is your speed sender hookup up to the ECU? If it isn't that is definitely your problem.

I'm not sure. I had gregslow do my harness. I'll have to check into that.

It's an 85. DME has TRM chip in it

I would be willing to bet the chip has a speed control delete if it doesn't I can show you how to add the wire to hook it up but pm matt about the chip first

on another note I had a lot of problems with my TRM tunning (driveability and performance) on the old m52 that was in the v8 car before it went v8. but I seem to rememberer my dyno graph also having a "hick up" aswell.

I can post the dyno sheets if needed

why would you do a speed input delete rather than just hooking it up?

Bingo. It does look like that is the problem.

Greg, I was willing to work with you to straighten out your car, but you started bashing me on here instead. As far as I know you tried none of our suggestions.

If your solution to a motor that isn't running right is to swap in another motor, you don't get to blame the chip.

very unattractive...i had that setup in line.

i sourced out an m52 with around 200k on it for 500$, and was going to ODB1 it....but im going to go with the s50 cam setup since i was basically barked at by other e30 junkies, that it will make more power than the m52, and close power to s50.

                              M52 has more displacement though

and it looks like his power would have kept climbing to at least 200whp, which isn't bad for a 2.5l

200whp is great for a 2.5l, but I don't think having that power only at 6500 is that useful. The problem is that his torque is down 50ft-lbs across the board.

                                Displacement!

BTW, ESS is selling a complete factory ZHP cam kit with gaskets and everything for $299. These are 10.0mm/10.0mm 248/248 vs the 9.7mm/9.0mm 240/244 Intake/Exhaust stock M54 cams I currently have.

I think an s50 has 10.2/9.7 252/240, so these would help close the gap on the top end for me.
