    N52 shifter placement

With the Z4 motor mounts, one thing that fits slightly less than perfect is the shifter. It works as-is, but it's aft of center enough to be annoying. I removed 1/2" from the shift carrier and also from the shift rod.

    Much better now...

Nice work! I still have to lengthen my DSSR selector rod to fine-tune my shifter position. It's nice to get things feeling like they're in the right spot.

Aside: Not sure if you're using the same kind of lower boot as I am, but it looks like it should be pulled up by one "notch".

Its in the correct groove, but may not look it

The nice thing about doing this is that the shifter placement can be adjusted *exactly* right with some tweaking of the selector rod

I put an expansion pin on the inside of the rod which aligned it and let me adjust it before I welded.
