No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

I'd been looking for an ix for the last two years before I finally pulled the trigger in August, and can add that it was listed for 7k with 130k, front fender rust and only 3 years of records. Earlier in the year 3 ix restorations come out of New Paltz NY on eBay and sold for around 10k.'87 325is coupe

We got a good number of M3's here (5K out of 17K)

I dug into it. In Canada they brought 2,000 alone just for rental cars (1988 ).
US imports were about double what the "other" #s say - the reason you see them everywhere, is that's the only #s anyone had, and they just get copied over and over. But they're still wrong.
it was more than that - and worldwide, there were definitely more ix's made than M3s.
also - $11.5k isn't even the most expensive price for an ix that's *sold*. Given the low miles, condition, and the fact that it's a 2-door 5 speed, I bet it will find a willing buyer..
