i say dont lower also ,my IX was purchased lowered on H&R's a billy HD's (looks harsh on the front axle angles) its ok a little harsh and im actually looking to go back to stock ride height or higher as nando states with coilovers (already have spare struts to start conversion) . the wife has already ripped the spoiler lip off twice and i would rather have ground clearance than performance as its my winter car if i want to drive a lowered car i have an E30M3 for that harsh ride quality......

it's not about height difference. the rates are all wrong. regular E30 drop in springs are going to be way too short, in addition to being too soft to begin with (even for a regular E30). H&R sports for the ix (which are really just H&R OE sports) are already too soft/short, with other drop in springs you'll literally be riding on the bumpstops. not good.
The only viable solutions:
STOCK with quality inserts (it really handles quite well if everything is fresh)
ix "specific" drop in springs (H&R Sports) with shortened bumpstops
coilovers with stiff rates/shortened housings (contact GC)
another option is to cut a couple coils off the stock springs.
anything else is going to severely compromise ride quality and handling, due to travel issues. There's just not much to work with on an ix so you need to be careful how you set it up.Comment
