ix rim/tire fitment questions

I wasnt trying to imply your ix was a "project car", just saying that's what it sort of becomes when you take a sawzall to the body. Trust me i've been there!i agree, i suppose the front fenders being replaceable wouldnt bother me as much as the pinch for the rear archs. but as far as anybodys future interest, i should correct that to be considered null. this vehicle is far from what i would consider a project. more of a long term investment. at the price, and the shape shes in, this is a car ive waited a long, LONG time to obtain. "shes mine, and im not letting her go!" and no thanks to the inspiration of YOURS nando. sheesh.
So many ix's get trashed, i cant see wanting to cut into mine even though its been in an accident. If i can fit tires that are effectively 250mm wide under stock fenders, there is no reason to either. :pComment

would you agree that you shouldnt be running different offset and width on an AWD vehicle to to drivetrain X-case damage? as far as i can recall ive known most AWD needing to be the same size on all four corners? or are we fine with running staggered setups?Comment

they definitely need to be the same diameter. as for width - for better handling, yes. the ix already inherently understeers. by making the rears wider than the fronts for the sake of looks, you will only make that worse.Comment

I really suggest you guys take a look at Nandos 11 year build thread on his Ix it will really open your eyes to the idea of wheel fitment on an Ix... you have to work much harder on these cars you cant simply just guess a wheel size and crank your coils down to eliminate the gap, but the overall look, if done right i believe to be much better looking then the RWD models. personal thought. because awd e30SELL ME YOUR E30

I am sorry, i have doo this.....
This is ThatOneGuy97 car, but here is one example

Varrstoen V1s 16x8 +25, 205/45/16 tires, H&R lowering springs and koni yellow struts.....
Yes nando has knowledge and experience, that is cood to give advice .... But sometimes considered to break something things.
I would have believed that those wheels fit below , before I saw your car with those wheels. In here can collect images, tire sizes, wheel sizes, etc. for IX :)Comment

I understand this, im just trying to mostly figure out the best widened track the car can get assuming awd would benefit moreso than a rwd, clearly a lower center of gravity and a wider grip surely will keep her planted to the ground. I only asked on behalf of staggeted setups because.the only spare wheels i have to fit are a staggered set.

I think what you're trying to say, is sometimes it's good to try something different. well - how do you think I figured out what exactly will fit without issues? ;)This is ThatOneGuy97 car, but here is one example

before that, the gospel was it had to be an ET41 wheel no matter what, and anything more than 7" wide rim with a 205 tire would cause the AWD to explode, and you couldn't add more than 5 HP to the drivetrain without the transfercase melting, and you couldn't lower more than 1", etc. etc. etc...Comment

Yes....I like to read your instructions with the thoughts, the instructions + explanations are valuable for me and i am grateful that someone always cope with these same things out, etc..
But some times some goes nuts and try some different. My wheels problem is now maybe too big, but daunted by me;).
Those wheels what I'm trying to under. It would be perfect for stance up if you do not have to but spacerComment
