Thanks I haven't updated in a bit because I pulled off the rear bumper and found out the person who owned the car prior to the previous owner used some sort of glue and a screw to hold on the rear bumper on the sides. So I got to figure out how to remove it without further damaging the cars paint and body. I have a spare red bumper cover I'm going to take to a body shop for them to repair and paint it.

here are some pics of what i was talking about
why just why ?
none of that is rut thats all some fur covered glue that was holding on the rear bumper cover along with one screw on each side.
Also i finally invested in an e30 bible. Hardbound edition too ^_^.
So when i get home ill be looking into what i will need to get that crap off my car so i can order the PROPER rear bumper mounting equipment.
This is what i want my car to look like but my car will have the iS front lip. I love the rear spoiler look in that car.
Also what are the going rates for iX specific mudflaps ? I have never seen any and im sure they are as rare as unobtanium but figured id ask.Last edited by Bimmer_man; 05-27-2014, 09:04 PM.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

I started reconstructing the car i attached the subframe and had to cut off a part of the nut on the power steering because it was bent on the top of the threads. So now all i need to do is get one new outer ball joint because the threads on that are just gone literally gone. So now im awaiting the arrival of the e30 bible then i know what the crank shaft measurments so i can get the correct bearings and then the engine will be built then dropped in the car.
Also come to find out there are 2 subframe bolts missing. So ill get a couple from the yard along with a few nuts that are missing off my iX. Then i can mount some crappy steelies that i got for free so the car is at least on its own wheels.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

well i got a few things and a couple on the way. I got the Bentley manual and omg that thing is the single greatest thing i have purchased.I also got a steering coupler and i have the head bolts coming and the main bolts coming along with some micrometers. Then ill measure the crank and the rods then order the bearings then the engine will be back togetherand mated to the transmission.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)

So I've been doing some thinking and it I think it would be better to get a running ix motor and just drop it in the car and call it good. Then with the block that I have get it ready for a turbo. So the block will have all arp hardware. Line honed with the arp main bolts. Lighten the rotating assembly. Using a forged crank shaft and ill get lightened forged connecting rods maybe. then get some new pistons for the block is being sent to AIMS and they are going to deck it bore it line hone it ..... pretty much do everything a machine shop can do to a block for a really good price.Last edited by Bimmer_man; 06-16-2014, 12:15 PM.Float like a cadillac sting like a Bimmer!:)
