just got a rebuilt driveshaft from bavauto. most of the rebuilt driveshafts available online come from a rebuilder in arizona. really impressed with form and finish

I got my reman shaft from bavauto a long time ago. it's been good. I think I have about 80,000 miles on it now. so it's probably worn out, lol. But it looks like it can be rebuilt instead of the stock shaft which had sealed u-joints.Comment

BMA carries the replacement U-joint.
The problem for the first rebuild is that BMW staked the original u-joint in place. You can see notches where 5 or 6 of the 8 original stake points were. The staking has to be machined away and the new snap ring groove cut where the stakes were. Once that's done, the next rebuild is cake.Comment

that would be sweet if it could be done a little cheaper than what bavauto is selling, but I guess after you add up buying a used shaft+ paying someone to machine it+ the 100$ replacement u joint, it would be just as expensiveComment
