New way to space front drive shaft?

    If you have an extended spline fitting, you can still convert to a split shaft like I did for my dad's car ;)

    Yeah, the dust cover (grease retainer?) just snaps in. There's a snap ring on the outside of the T-case sprocket snout.

      Do you really have to drop the T case to remove the jute91 extended shafts?

        yes. or the front diff, but the transfercase is easier, lol.

        Fortunately he gave us a grease nipple so there's not a lot of reason to remove it.

                  I just noticed the pic on the Moonlite link I put up looks to be he same as your car. Has a green marking on the driveshaft. I wonder if your car is the same one that they used on their site

                      The thing I don't like about that spacer is it doesn't have the centering pin for the differential. It may be OK to rely on the bolts to center the driveshaft, but there's a good risk of vibration. I'd also worry about it putting a bit more wear on the splines if it's not aligned correctly.

                      And with the X5 centering pin you also get a stronger guibo.
