I was reeeeeally close to buy a ix Baur when i started the ix turbo build, would have been cool with a 800hp ix Baur :DE30 325ix M50 turbo 7 spd DCT 4wd 840awhp @ 31 psi.
E30 M50 6 spd 764whp @ 24psi.
E30 M20 6 spd 675whp.Comment

N2x has potential, but they sound absolutely horrible, have no top-end, and have timing chain issues.
Could do an N54ix - still relatively light (all aluminum), and they came in AWD form - some parts of the N54 are problematic but the basic engine is solid and the issues it does have would be simple to deal with. But, you could also just turbo the M20, unless you really need to have 800+hp or something..Comment

800 HP and *LESS* overhead structure than stock? No thanks.
Does the N26 not use the same timing drive as the N54 and N55?N2x has potential, but they sound absolutely horrible, have no top-end, and have timing chain issues.

The N26 is aluminum block, right? So it's the lightest engine available and probably comes in about the weight of your N52 with the turbo hardware included.Comment

No.. it's a different design.
yeah, about the same weight/power. It sounds like poop, and really isn't all that powerful - also there is basically zero support for swapping it into another chassis anyway (EWS delete? I doubt anyone has even looked at it yet). Maybe I'll get to it someday. But, meh - inline 6 or bust. :)Comment
