I use the 14" stock bottlecaps with Toyo Observe G-02 snows. Awesome tires. Going on 4th season. Although, most iX owners swear by Hakka's or Blizzaks.

$99 a pop from Tire Rack in Dec of 2006. They have held up very well through two winters. I didn't see them on Tire Rack's website last time I checked :???: but they still had some nice looking wheels for the iX.

Ya, I just checked and they didn't have it.
If you ever are thinking about selling it, let me know ;)

All these tires are for a 16+ wheel

Suppose I keep my 15" weaves, having a hard time finding a good winter tire to fit them

I ran a set of Yokohama Avids on a '66 Volvo 122 through a couple of winters with excellent results.

Tire rack is also showing a Dunlop dedicated winter tire that is available in the stock 205/55/15 tire size: Dunlop Graspic for 325iX

Here is a link to a snow tire forum that might help with tires not available through Tire Rack: Snow Tire Forum

Those stealies and hub cap combo are bad ass.

Ive been rocking Continental extreme contacts. 205/50-15 for the winter. Dont get alot of snow. but they seem to rock pretty good in it.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

I run the same Borbet as shown above, with Blizzaks. With those tires, the iX is the best handling snow vehicle I've ever driven, and I've spent 25 winters driving just about every kind of vehicle imaginable in upstate New York. The math should do itself.

in the interest of full disclosure, I haven't run Hakkapeliittas, but I've never felt I "needed" to.

I run 185/65/15 Dunlop Graspic DS-2's on my MINI and it handles, stops, and accelerates like an AWD car! These are spectacular tires, wear evenly and seem to last a while, and handle the snow better than last year's blizzaks, though the Blizzaks were close, and were WS-15's - a few years old.

So the 14's DO fit on the iX. Interesting. But, the iX 15's don't fit on the RWD e30's because of the wheel's offset. I can't fit 14's on my MINI, so I was curious if it was the same for the iX.

ix wheels don't *directly* fit on RWD cars because the high offset makes the wheels rub on the struts. they will fit with spacers though.

Mini wheels have the wrong centerbore to fit on E30s but it can work with the right spacer.

an interesting tidbit, the original spare on the '88 model is a 14" steel wheel, later cars got a full sized 15" alloy spare..
