    I just got mine as I wan't going to wait for the GB. I hope to install it this weekend and will post pics. I got the 1/4" and it is very nice. Recommended product from classic9leathershop.com.

        it says "will not reflect engine heat back down toward your intake". im talking abut the engine's operating temp, not the intake temp. it does say that it will "insulate against sound and heat", so is it trapping heat in or preventing the sun's heat from getting in? If the thermostat is still able to keep the proper running temp (and it should) then their wouldn't be a difference. if the operating temp is raised i'm thinking that it would lower the thermal efficiency and therefore the work (power) that you can get out of the engine. correct me if im wrong though.

                  Isn't the purpose to protect the paint on the hood from the heat from the engine bay?

                      If that paint can take the heat of Sacramento then it sure can take the heat of the engine bay.....

                          No, since it was the foam version from factory, it was all brittle. Just used a plastic spatula, used for paint spackle to scrape it off.

                                The place that makes these recommmeds high temp trim adhesive, like 3M 80.
