I'm interested as well, not for myself but for my buddy who is getting ready to have his bug done. He intends to have it done in TJ, Spanish is his 1st language as well, but I don't think he has a shop picked out yet.

          dropped the car off today

Ok so I went today and spoke to the guy over at Los ponchos and when I got to the shop I was pretty impressed.. There was a white Maserati in garage that had some front end damage being repaired.. As soon as he saw my car he pointed out previous Bondo work.. So for a full paint job in black he charged me 1300 this includes taking the whole car apart and doing the color change.. Doors trim windows etc will be pulled and painted.. I should have pictures sometime this week so I'll post them up.. Any questions feel free to ask..

What happened? Did they end up charging you more than expected or was the quality of the job less than expected? Sounds like an adventure though.

When I was a kid in the 80s I remember my dad talking about how cool it would be to take our '72 510 to TJ for paint and interior work...
