The 318's came with no trunk tar because the front end was already light. The 325's recieved trunk tar because the front end weighs more because of the larger engine. The tar helps aid in the weight balance.

On a lot of the honda boards people cover the tar with dry ice to make it brittle then pry it up and/or bust it up with a hammer.

it doesnt really have to be a hot day, just a warm sunny day. mine took 5 min, and i didn't even mean to remove it, just happened by accident.

Fuck yes; from now on, that's how I'm measuring the length of time it takes to work on the car for a project.

for most, a zealous pursuit (generally irrational) of less weight. For me, OCD.

E30's (at least 325e's and i's)don't have 50/50, they have a front bias already.

Mine came out by hand in about 45 seconds, 3 big pieces, no residue.

About the easiest thing I've ever done.

I'd do it if i purchased a CF hood to match.

We fought mine for about 20 minutes with a hammer and lifetime warranty screwdriver in 20 degree weather. Suck it up, waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.

That's how I did the interior tar in my 2002. Came out super easy!

I've used aircraft stripper in the past for tar.... of course, it will take your paint with it too and maybe a few of your brain cells....

hehe when i do this i will park it somewhere in sacramento all day with the windows in the mall parking lot with resurfaced asphalt so its going to be REALLY nice and warm in that trunk. probably 100 outside at least, so maybe 120 in trunk??

you should run a remote radiator in the trunk with fans cooled by an uber-hot roof vent ala saleen s7 or f&f.

hahahaha, now that is fuh raze. too bad it tops out at 140mph in the movie w/out nitrous. my moms stock gs300 can do that. lmao.
