you should just sell the one you have and build a new one. To me it seems to ruin all the work you already did by taking it all off and redoing something else. I vote for you to get a shell and build a new e30 and keep driving that one

Personally, why not just enjoy waht you have?

I think the whole rendering and idea look fantastic - but you already ahve a very nice looking car.

Why not go out and have some fun with it?

Do do the gills, it would look horrible.

i'm restating some very good points in a different way:

        1. the e30 is a box. those round ass fenders won't look right.
        2. your car is already nicer than most e30s
        3. it will never be an e46.
        4. it will never be an m3.
        5. i know it will be original and all that, but the (e30) m3 fenders just look better.
        6. 285's? pfff.

don't rape that beautiful car... please.

oh, and BTW, you actually like the look of that rendering? those fenders take over the whole car (in the wrong kind of way).

When's the last time you went to maxbimmer? Show me a car on there that meets the criterea you describe.

          You can't.

And Jordo -- do it to another shell.

Felix's old ride comes to mind.. clear coated primer.

and yeah, I had given it some though previously. I would much prefer to pick up a junk auto 84 318i (straight) and gut the sucker.

Then I could register it as a sucky car for way cheap insurance lol.

Eh, he's long gone. Don't know what happened to that car. The truth is, the E30's up here are pretty damn good, considering the rust/rot that ate most of them up, leaving only a few decent examples.

And the 84 318i, that's what I plan on doing, find a clean one, gut it, and make it a nice track/fun car.

I think it's funny that people are hating on your "weak" M20.. in any case, I honestly never really was into the way your car looked all that much. it's clean but there's just no contrast, all one color is not my thing really. I don't really like lachs that much either, but that's all personal taste. I like your ideas for this change up but I still think the car will lack contrast. definitely lose the fins though!

I don't really call a e46 m3 gtr rice...do you?!?! anyway I think it might look more rice if the fins wern't there...the fins (if you make them functional Jordan) aren't just for looks and give that HUGE flair something. I don't know but it might look funny w/out them. it almost hides how big they are ;)

Nobody said the E46 M3 GTR is rice. Putting a ripoff of a race car's bodykit on an older, non-race street car is pure rice.

So many on here talk smack about kids in Hondas and Nissans with massive fibreglass bodywork that takes inspiration from JGTC et al, and even if their cars have sprouted engine conversions, they're still called ricers.

To me, fitting this body kit to an E30 is as bad as what the French do to their cars.

I don't think the flares look too bubbly for the e30, from the photos they seem to have a more or less straight line cross-section, get what I mean? The rendering kinda reminds me of an e30 sitting in a raft. Maybe that's because the new body pieces are bulky, amybe just because I subconsciously seperate the stuff that's familiar from the new stuff. I think it could look really good and if anybody can do it it's Jordan.

the m20 is pretty siCk. but no matter what side of the grip vs. width debate you're on, that type of power doesn't warrant 285's. does it? maybe it does. i don't know anymore.
