Are any of the options we have actually functional?
Functional rear spoilers?

There was a discussion here on drag coefficients a couple of years ago. I seem to recall it mentioned the iS spoiler as being functional, but only by a fraction.Comment

That sounds familiar to me as well. It was like 3% reduction in turbulence behind the car? Also the db spoiler valance gained the SE30 guys like 5mph on the straights.Interested in vintage cars? Interesting...i'd like to know as much info about my Hartge spoiler as possible. Was wondering if there is any benefit to either drag coefficient or down-force.
anyone actually using vortex generators on the roof combined with a deck-lid spoiler? Any data?Comment

Why do you even care? I'm assuming this is on a street car not a race car, so WGAF?
I've always understood that downforce is negligible at speeds under 100 mph with just about any wing on any car.Comment

all sarcasm aside...

It's interesting to know. mostly interested in drag since the right aero mods can contribute to MPG.Comment

I'm not sure about that... I'd say downforce starts becoming a thing around 65-70 no?

Ask those who know (e.g. engineers, racers, or both in one) and they'll say it makes a difference at even autocross speeds, especially in a light car. Air is pretty dense fluid. I know that only because I also believed it didn't matter and got told.Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one? Theres some crazy spoilers on the fast autox cars and those speeds are never over 100mph, so Id say they are useful. My car is all about function over form, and every little bit adds up. Front spoiler, rear spoiler, mirrors, etc. these are all things Im looking into improving as long as its not the 0.01% improvement that the iS doesSimon
