Blacked Out Kidneys: Why?

I personally like the black kidneys. Not a fan of the chrome they look weird to me.

But the lights, and wheel barrels dont!?!

It seems the argument so far is this:

Chrome: completely compliments the look of the car, shows it's a BMW, breaks the front up

Black: I hate chrome

I just think the smoked hellas + black kidneys contrast better with the colour of my car (Lachsilber).





Both look good but blacked out looks more aggresive.

You could also argue that once the factory chrome flakes off, its much easier to rattlecan it black than re-chrome or buy another.

Thats funny I thought the same thing when I saw your car in your sig.

My car came with them blacked out. I could go either way, dont really have a preference one way or the other. I think it really comes down to the whole package.

My car had limo tint and 17" wheels. I liked the car enough to buy it. But I changed out the wheels fairly quickly and finally made the time to get the tint taken off. To me it made a big difference in my enjoyment of the car.

If you like them blacked out do it. If you like them chrome do it. Body color, don't.

The only way, in my opinion, blacked-out kidneys look good is if you have smoked ellips/euros and your car is NOT schwarz.

The fresh new smoked lights and better picture make the first picture look a lot better than the second. It's not so much the blacked out grill itself although it does match the smoked lights and flows better. I recently switched from smoked lights to standard euro ellipsoids to match my chrome Evo 3 grill and fogs. I'm not a fan of smoked grill with standard lights either.

I painted my euro grills flat black while my kidneys are gloss black to give it that subtle look since i don't really like the attention the chrome brings to my e30 because i have really shitty paint right now. lol
But I'll probably go chrome again when my car's repainted.
If you can't distinguish a BMW just because of the grills.. then maybe you have bad eye sight or just don't know your BMWs. lol
