How about this one:
Only 2 door 89+'s are good looking. Every other e30 looks like ass. :)

i think the longer you have diving boards, the less you care about them, at least that's how i am.

i used to hate the diving boards. then, about a week ago, i was steering a dodge spirit parts car that was being towed out of my garage, and we smacked my e30. right in the diving board. didnt do shit. barely left a mark on the plastic. if i had plastic bumpers, id bet that it wouldve cracked or worse. vive le diving board!: : 1984 318i : : PNW E30 Crew : : Sold!!

I like my diving boards. I un-tucked and strrpped the paint on them when I got the car. I am however glad that not everyone shares my opinion. I like that all of our cars are made for what the driver wants, not what someone else decides is good looking.Comment

I actually like the classic look over the modern on my cabbie. A number of us grew up loving these cars before plastic bumpers were even thought of. It seems silly to me to claim that metal bumpers weren't in the designers mind when they made the cars...but then another person's point that Euro chromes were most likely the intended design. I can concede that and I plan on grabbing some as soon as I can figure out how to make em fit on my '89 vert.
I find it interesting that a lot of people comment on the non-utility of diving boards when:
1. most accidents happen within a few miles from your house
2. most accidents are low speed rather than high speed
3. the only time I really worry about my bumper/fender damage is when I accidentally smack someone in a parking lot--where metal rules all (except mass)
now my wife's plastic bumpered e30, that's a different story. Hadn't even had it for two weeks before she tapped the side of an illegally parked van while backing up. She *claims* the bumper was merely gouged, but it was still $500.Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!Comment
