you are correct that the low beams have a dual filament bulb but if the fuse is out for the highs it will kill the power to the whole side go to your car put in a bad fuse in the high beam section and tell me what happensLeave a comment:

Buy a new headlight, After you install it you can thank us. It's called a dual filament.
And if you doubt us take out your multimeter and check for voltage when it on or swap low beams.Leave a comment:

they are low/high beams built into one light.

I will get a diagram later, I have 4 headlights in total, the outers appear to be lowbeams, and the inners appear to be the highs, the outers are only on with the driving lights, the inners ONLY go on when I hit push/pull the lever for the highbeams.Leave a comment:

I know. that's because sealed beams have 2 filaments on the low beam bulbs - it actually has both a high beam and a low beam. if it goes out when you turn on the brights, that means the high beam filament on that light is burned out.Leave a comment:

well the odd thing is that the right side lowbeam works fine without the brights on, if i turn the brights on it goes out... I dont know if they are sealed beams, not to familiar with headlights yet, yeah the bulb is what I was going to check tonight.Leave a comment:

that's why I asked
DO YOU HAVE SEALED BEAMS
it's likely you just have a burned out bulb. ;)Leave a comment:

No i was just wondering. The last guy that had the car must have messed up the wiring, because when I turn on my brights the left bright and lowbeam go on, but the right side goes all dark, Wiring Time!Leave a comment:

Brights?
I was wondering if when you guys turn you brights on, (the inner top lights) If the outers go out, so it is just the high beams, and not the lows.Tags: None
