You may want to do some research on heat or melting issues. I'm not sure, but if Ellipsoid high beams have any plastic in them, a 55w could cause some problems there.

I ordered the 55w apexcone kit but receved the DDM slim ballast. I plugged one in to see if it was a brighter unit as they claim a 40% increase in light output but they look the same. The website say the 55w ballast is larger. Does anyone have the slim kit dimensions so i can compare to see which ballast i have.

              Why would they melt?
55W halogen bulbs: Less light output with same power usage. This means that more of the energy is converted to heat.

55W HID bulbs: Higher light output with same power usage. This means that less of the energy is converted to heat.

In other words, HIDs run cooler.

do they actually last, or do you have to use the warranty often? I deal with a company that dealer cost is considerably higher, but they said they have tried all the cheap ones, and they had a high failure rate, and I have installed some that had to be rewired, as they came wired backwards (most of the ebay ones) if these are decent I will use them
