For a stock halogen drop in with a snip of the plastic base of the bulb they are the best! They're the only technological update of halogens and put out more light while using the stock 55 watts. That means no worries of overheating or melting the housing, no worries of battery drain, and very good lighting in my experience.
They're made by Phillips and they cost $23 on amazon and are much brighter than stock. They last a good while too (estimated twice as long from what I've seen) and tested at 1870 lumens vs stock 1000ish.
Highly reccomended if you don't go to HIDs.
I've mentioned them two or three times in other threads, but I thought they only came in 9005/9006 configuration. Link for H1 shape?

Add me to this list.I was pleased enough with the Narvo lows when I swapped in ellipsoids, that I bought the high beams as well. Great $64 investment (for all 4)

Hey, did you ever find a bulb you like? You never did say what your 'new lights' are, I assume you know they take an H1.

I recently asked if there is an HIR equivalent for H1 bulbs, this is the response I got from Kenny at CandlePower:

          Thank you for our inquiry.

HIR1 and HIR2 are names for specific bulbs that are also named 9011 and 9012, just like the H13 bulb is also know as the 9008. The numeric values are USA and Asia, whilst the alphanumeric values are European.

The best and brightest upgrade for the H1 is the Philips Xtreme Vision H1
          So, doesn't look like it
