Right on, that looks great! Once we get that pretty panel in, that trunk is finished.

    Hey Luke,

Really happy with my set up, thanks again for all your help. Here's a picture after I painted the box with stone texture paint and routed the cables(click pic for full size). I'll give you a call or text about connecting up again on the false wall.

Can't wait to get the box, Trunk space is only a couple inches less with 12" than the 10" right?

Now I just need some suggestions on where to hide my amp. Maybe cut out some more seat foam and put an air fan in the seat next to the bass ports?

So how much extra is it for carpet to match the trunk liner? I've got some that matches pretty closely but I could go for a better match
I can drop 3 in, you won't want more than that...and your box will come with a template and carpet. The match is not perfect, but it is mighty close.

I am packing your box tomorrow, do you want a couple of 4" ports? I have a TON of them.

No charge, glad to see them go to a good home.

Exactly, only the size of a skipass, and a "lip" round the outside...hard to describe.

Likely won't be happening until late spring.

Yes and no. I have done ONE E36 box, but I did it all smartass, I made the front of the box curve to match the back seat, it was BITCH!

My deal is the whole "efficiency" thing, and that starts with getting 100% of the bass into the cabin, NOT the trunk.

The E36 trunk is curved and contoured, so it is an absolute bitch.

...but I WILL get it, just like I THINK I might have a 'vert sub plan...

I'm not a major audiophile but I like everything in my car to be the best possible, and I really think your box is something I gotta have. Question - will my rear deck speakers become useless?

I recently picked up my e30 and the PO replaced the rears with some basic Sony coaxial speakers (I learned the difference between coax and component on this forum, and then returned the coaxial speakers I had picked up... definitely looking to go component in the front) while the fronts are still stock non-premium. The head unit is an Alpine "IVA-D310" ca. 2005 flip-up touchscreen with DVD navigation, sirius navtraffic, and in my trunk (right where the sub box would go, mounted on the seatback) there is what looks to be an Alpine amplifier (marked with the phrase "Ai-Net"). I haven't had any time to investigate what I have aside from pricing out this exceedingly expensive setup (PO is a V.P. of Sirius), or what's connected to what, but I can only assume that I wouldn't be able to run a subwoofer off the existing amp. Anyone have any experience with this Alpine unit? I'll have to get more details on the amp.
I have a buttload of experience with all those goodies, please get me exact model numbers.

I may have just sold the last one. Let me check with the schedule of another local, his car is on jackstands AGAIN, and he ain't in no big hurry, I can set you up.

More than likely, that amp is a 4 channel. If so, you can run whatever crap you have for the rears off that nav deck, then use half that 4 channel to run the front speakers in stereo and the other can run the sub.

Again, grab me all the exact model numbers, we can nail down a plan for you.

    Luke
