Is this original E30 vert shock?

My front shocks just went out on my '93 E30 convertible. I was surprised to see that it was red. In my shopping for replacement shock inserts never came upon a red one. Also no markings on the shock. I have 190k on the car. .

Thought someone might have changed out an OEM and verified it. PO claimed to have all the receipts and no front shocks were ever done. Thought it would be odd that an OEM shock wouldn't have a part number or BMW roundel

Sorry. Bought new Sachs shocks. It was more a curiosity about completeness of PO service records

The OE shocks were yellow, inverted, and had a BMW logo engraved on them. I actually did take the original inserts out of my first e30, and I think I may still have them floating around the shop shelves somewhere.

I doubt those are original shocks, I also doubt you have complete service records for a 20+ year old car with more than 190K miles.

Any particular reason you care about the service records?

I think the bronzit I just picked up at auction last week has original shocks. Thing bounces like it's from Uncle Buck..

I have an 86 with 360k miles with records up to 340k (working odometer obviously). They definitely are not OEM inserts since the OEM were yellow, inverted monotube (like the Bilstein HD/Sport) with the BMW logo engraved on it, as per my previous post. My first e30 had original inserts that I changed at 74k miles.

thanks for the info. it was more an interest. Just like to know what my car may have been through. since the inserts are completely within the strut, the PO may not have known what shock his independent shop in Castro Valley may have put in. I tried searching ECSTUNING but no luck.
Searched EBay. found Mookeeh shocks that color. looks like cheap shocks.

My 91 325is shocks are black. Car has 30k miles and never been replaced. Red would prob be Koni replacements.
