I used the wall method with a packing blanket between my car and the wall. Works well if you VERY slowly touch the wall, then give the throttle a little tap.

Haters bow before my polished DB's
I honestly like the db look and having them polished and looking perfect really changes the outlook of the whole car.

Post Bumper Tuck Gaps
Hello everyone,
Tucked the front bumper on my 84 eta today. No problems with tuck or drilling shocks. Bumper is WAY in. Unfortunately this project sat outside for 7 years before I got my hands on her and the front bumper surrounds are warping. I also have the gaps between then surrounds and the bumper now that it is tucked. After reading a few threads I've come to the conclusion that I can buy surrounds for a vert, run screws to fill gap, etc. What is the best option? I plan on buying new surrounds and painting them alpine white to match the car. Should I shop around for vert surrounds? Can I order new 84 eta surrounds, paint them, and do something to help them sit flush to the bumper? Thanks for reading and I appreciate any help you can offer.

^This is correct, they are the same as 88 surroundings made for lower arches. The 86/87 2 and 4 door surrounds will fit and are shorter than 84/85 surrounds. They will also get rid of the gap around the front bumper.Bronzit 4-door Swap Drifting somewhere

The rears are longer and won't fit your car, I was told that's because the vert's all had the lower arches. It does seem like vert surrounds don't warp nearly as bad as the normal unpainted ones.

Agreed looks good. The pre 88 cars are missing that lower rear apron. Car looks so empty without it. Even the m3 e30 has a rear apron for a early year 88 m3
