    Had a question-

I tucked my front bumper on my '87, and of course there is that damn gap between the top and sides of the bumper and the bumper apron/covering. The black bumper covering is a little warped on one side as well, but nothing too severe.

I had thought about using black silicone (actually, if done right, it wouldn't matter the color) to adhere the bumper cover to the top of the bumper. I think I'll try it, but, the sides will still stick out and I don't know how to overcome that problem. It's just that the bumper itself tapers from the back to the front hence the empty space after the tuck.

    Give me your opinions. Thanks

i noticed only one of you guys is still running fogs. does keeping the fogs limit how much tuck action you can get into?

probably, i have an IS valence, and it is like perfectly lined up with the lip, i dont think there is very much space there.

Not sure about everyone else, but I removed mine simply because they are ugly.

If you wanted to keep them, i'm sure you could. Worst case scenario would involve drilling a new hole or enlarging the existing mounting hole in the bumper IF it interferes.

How the hell did you guys tighten the nuts back on the bolts where the screws for the bumper go through the bumper shock flange? I can't fit my hands in there. I was able to get a nut on one screw for each side by hand, but that was all(I can't tighten it down because my wrenches won't fit in there either. Do I have to cut my way in there?

thanks in advance for any input

what took me the longest on the whole project was bolting the front bumper back up...with it on our lift and whatnot it was still a PITA, but i ended up using a 1/4in drive ratchet, a wobbly 3in extension, and a swivel socket, and a lot of hand cramping.

that took me the longest too. i ended up extending the shock just long enough so that i can fit my hand in there to tighten the nuts then pushed the bumper in by hand.

Wait...did you guys pull the front bumper to tuck it?

                    Fuck all of that.

I jacked my car up, drilled a 1/4" hole in the bumper shock (making sure to get none of the spew on me), shoved it in, measured it, and shot 1/4 X 1 1/2" screws in it.

                    Done!

2 reasons: One, the rear bumper scoots around while I am driving. Not much, but I wanted no movement at all.
Second, with the early "is" lip, I did not want 100% tuck on the front. I am in most of the way, but not all, so my lip lines up 1" behind the bumper. I liked the look better.

I also bolted the lip to the bumper so sag is not possible, no matter how much I scrape the fucker.
