I'd worry about getting into to a low-speed accident and doing more damage to my car than if I had the bumper and bumper shocks working, and what Mr. Insurance Man is going to say when he sees the extra damage and the compressed shocks.

dipshit insurance man is not going to notice collapsed bumper shocks from a wreck because they would be collapsed anyways from the accident and they will not question any extra damage since they are going to either fix it or total it anyways. If you were to do say a $1000.00 worth of body repair, which is not much of a repair by the way, on a car that is worth only around $2500.00 no matter how much you have spent on it. They are likely going to total it!!!!!!!! On my Infiniti Q45 I use to have someone back in to it in a parking lot and caught it just above the front bumper on the left corner busting the parking light and denting the fender about 6 inches in diameter. There was no other damage at all but the cost of the repair was over $2300.00 for the fix. Cost of fender, parking light, paint(black) and clearcoat fender, bumper & hood and fade into front left door and all labor involved. My point is insurance claims with a body shop are not cheap!!!

It's a Zender kit from the 80's as far as I know. I can't seem to find much info about it though!

When you compressed your shocks, you lost the "5mph" rating. Now if you get rear-ended or you rear-end someone, instead of the shocks compressing and absorbing the impact, the body or frame take the impact.

I've only done the front so far. Full tuck.

He means that since your car is so low nothing will hit the bumper anyways, you'll just get smashed in the grill or taillights.

I planned on getting rid of the ugly ass diving boards as soon as I got some money for some euro bumpers. It was about then that I got NAILED by an old lady in a buick from behind. I would have SWORN that the car was totaled I got hit so hard, and was ready to get out and kick some old lady ass.

Fortunately, I got out, and to my complete amazement, her cars license plate was imprinted in dust into the bumper. That was the ONLY sign that I had even been hit. From then on I have opted not to drill the shocks or remove the bumpers, they totally saved the car.

I am really starting to like the look of tucked diving boards!
What if someone was to have their diving boards plated in black chrome with a schwarz car?? Just a thought??

                            Tucked bumper

                            Hi,

I'm just looking post about tucked bumper. Interesting ! I'm want to change bumpers on my 318i 1984 and i'm looking for euro bumper.

Tucked bumper with paint trim and paint bumper look very nice.

I'm going to check possibilities to get the same look but without drilling schock.

                            Milos

I think the same on you... It's better to keep oil in shocks.
