I've pushed mine in and pulled them out multiple times (to get to things behind the bumpers), every time by hand. And I'm only about 170lbs and hardly a bodybuilder...Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

Tucked my rear last summer with the help of Brandon Chif8008 on here
Bout an inch tuck but it's an 85 so you can't tell that much lol Also used self tapping screws on the lower hanger of the shrouds to make them hug the bumper, looks way better. I know 86-88 and vert surrounds all hug the bumpers well but it's a solution that Branden came up with for 84/85 cars.
Question: I don't have the necessary tools (sockets) to remove the front bumper shocks. I drilled the outermost side of both shocks but only highly pressurized air came out. I can twist the shocks around but they won't compress. Do I just need to find a wall? The rears were done this way but oil came out and we compressed them by hand.Bronzit 4-door Swap Drifting somewhere

having extreme difficulty in compressing front schocks. I even took it to a local shop and they used a bottle jack to try to compress it and it wouldn't even budge. Now I have to replace one of them because the tab got all fuckered up. Any advice on why the hell this is happening?!Originally posted by Wh33lhopThis is r3v. I think I know what happened. My car was in a small front impact and it was probably off-centered and it "off-quiltered" the piston and jammed it into the sidewall like this.
Anyway passed this like pulling it and then trying to compress or is it FUBARED.
Also do you have to drill all the way through or just through one side until you get to the piston cavity??????????? Someone please help, I can't drive my car without a bumper!Last edited by slaterd; 04-21-2012, 11:58 AM.Originally posted by Wh33lhopThis is r3v. Check your vaginal sand at the door.Comment

Feelin' like a dipshit. Turned out I was drilling in the wrong piston. I guess you were suppose to drill in the piston that actually compresses into the other. Shocks are compressed now with about 1/2 inch left. New bumper, polished DB, painted tirm, shadowed kidney, grill touchup with new jpaint, and deleted markers. I'll try to get before and afters Monday, it looks 10x better. Just need a flipped IS lip, new fogs, new hood, and high beams and front end is done.Originally posted by Wh33lhopThis is r3v.
