I have tucked bumpers on several cars, mine were just not gonna budge. I SLOWLY backed into a wall and mushed them in...why fuck with taking the bumper shocks out? Way too much hassle to do a 5 minute job.

Mine has that same bumper/airdam and I love it:
I pulled all of my shit apart, cleaned and painted everything, then re-aligned and tucked. Then I bolted the airdam directly to the bumper so no gap/sag.

Is Jordos write up on late bumper swap still on the "tech" pages?
Why yes, here it is: http://www.r3vlimited.com/tech/bumper/bumper1.htm
Fronts are bolt on, rears are...um...a bit tougher.

1. Get on your back under the front bumper of the car. Look straight up, and there will be a hole on the underside of the metal part of the bumper about six inches in from each side. In these holes, are the 2 large bolts that hold the bumper on the car.Neal Mulcahy - 84 318i

I haven't looked at a DB bumper in awhile to remember how the shocks was bolted to the bumper. But i do remember that there is 6 bolts that hold the shocks onto the body. There is one in each side in the frame rail. The one above the muffler is harder to get to cause of the heat sheild.
