    Ms2 turbo m20

    I'm having issues with my m20 turbo megasquirt from whodwho
    wasted spark is giving me grief I've tried to use tunerstudio testing and trippled checked wiring I have coils out of a older 5.3 sierra I'll post some pics

    this wiring is my own custom made db15 soldered my own color wires

    the I'm getting bo spark at all I do have fuel plugs are wet

    everything is wired in
    a - 1-6
    b 5-2
    c 3-4

    Im using the stock ls harness , ill snag some photos colors when i get home im looking for diagrams of someone who has already done this and has everything wired properly




    Starting from bigger top side right 8 1:ignition 1 brown and black stripe-green
    2:ignition 2 red and green stripe-brown
    3:ignition 3 yellow and black stripe-yellow
    4:ignition 4 pink and black stripe
    5:fan blue wire
    6: blank green
    7:injector 4 grey
    8:Injector 3 orange

    9:ign1 blue and red stripe
    10: ign2 purple
    11:ign3 brown and white stripe
    12:bc pink
    13:launch control black wire
    14:injector1 red and black stripe
    15 injector 2 red and white​


    I'm using 2 of the factory v8 harness for the coils I cut out coil 7 and 8 off the original harness also got the pig tails connected together via colors and firing order

    Black is my ground going to both my chasis and the adapter plate I made to mount these
    Brown is the ecu ground going to the stock m20 afm ground
    Pink off the stock ls harness is my switched 12v
    the other colors are all

    Dude you need to draw out a diagram of what you did wiring wise, describing what wire goes where in text is just not gonna work if you want help. MS settings could also be your problem. You need to go into coil test mode and investigate further.

      So following like someone did on the miata page to Ms is exactly what I've done , been trying to make a diagram will have one just super busy working on 2 projects , at a time as for this I've went and changed up my settings aswell I'll attach a photo and went into ts , ign spark mode nothing happens

        My drawings suck but that's the setup, both harness are fed through the oe Connectors, so pink is 12v , the 0.5v ecu signal wires vary in colors but are mounted woth the corresponding firing sequences , brown is a ecu ground , and black is a chasis ground ,

          Your diagram and the Miata diagram have reversed pin orders. Did you reverse pin order on the coils? Is the AFM ground (pin 4 of afm GY/BU?) actually connected to the ECU ground plane?

            I made sure to when looking up my coil , I had everything wired in correctly just incase I did reverse one , let's hope I didn't fry the coil it got hot showing the wiring was already correct via my diagram , yessir that's the ecu ground signal off the afm , I've checked my wiring I will do so once again when I get back home I've been going back fourth with it , whats the beat route to test the 5v signal from Ms?

              MS settings are also suspect since we haven't seen them, could be a basic basic one like getting "going high" and "going low" mixed up in spark output. The reason I ask if the AFM ground wire actually has confirmed continuity with the ground plane of the ECU is that I don't mess with whodwho's stuff often so I don't know what he uses the now-unused pins like evap purge and AFM for. Assuming the wiring is correct and after verifying settings, what's inside the MS? Where do your ignition pins on your DB15 come from on the board?

                Here is the pin output whodwhos ecu , he's telling me the coil getting hot is a good sign but idk some coils do have the positive negative switched over on the ls coils when I did this , it got super hot I tested the one coil when switching them to make sure I didn't even both checking I ran and unplugged it , here are the settings aswell

                I tried switching from high and low ,

                Afm ground I did confirm was correct and was told to use either the afm ground or the 02 sensor ground ,

                He says it'll run off the stock sensors if I did want to run a completely stock m20

                  So you didn't add the DB15 connector, the ECU came that way. Your comment about custom DB15 in the OP made me think you added it to the ECU. Unplug your coils and probe your harness and confirm you have 5V at the correct pin on each connector in "going low" mode with key on. Going low is 5V at rest, 0v to dwell, going high is the opposite, it's just easier to test the continuity in going low mode because the constant 5V exists as long as the key is on. MS settings look right. I'd say it's a wiring issue if you've used whodwho's recommended settings and a connector he installed.

                    my matco mm has ac and dc volts selection I've tried both and I am not getting the 5v signal from the ecu I went directly to the db15 pins I've sat for a couple hours made both a ls1 m20 harness and now a ls2 harness aswell , thinking thay was the issue both custom wires via 2 diagrams neither worked

                      Stupid mistake I fixed it , looking at the back of the damn db15 plugging I was using the opposite side wires instead of paying attention when i soldered the wires on thanks for the help
