    Charcoal Canister/Evap Valve

I've been searching around a lot to see what people do with their evap system after going megasquirt. I haven't found a general consensus anywhere, every thread I can find hasn't been very helpful.

How do most of you handle your evap system? Just remove everything and vent to atmosphere? Plug the line going to the charcoal canister?

Right now I just have the system in place but the evap valve not connected to anything. Wouldn't this be the same as just plugging the line into the charcoal canister?

    Thanks
    Thanks,
    Matt

if you have MS2 or MS3, hook it up and run it.

there's nothing to gain by removing it.

if you have MS1, you can just leave it alone.

Mine's vented to the atmosphere - I think I pulled the charcoal canister and just left the vent line open. It would be smart to shove a filter in the line.

I threw a breather on mine after I ditched the canister. Make sure the line is pointed upward so you can mitigate any risk of siphoning.

There was a thread about this where someone posted a realoem picture that just had a small tube extend from the breather tube on the tank down the front of the tank and end there, venting to atmosphere.

I realized that my ix had the breather line missing off the car with a similar setup, so when I was looking to make room for the late coolant reservoir, I had no issues with tearing the charcoal cannister out and grinding the remnants of the studs down.

When would you trigger it to open? Just like overrun cut with high RPM/low TPS? I'm guessing the stock ECU handled it via vehicle speed sensor/RPM/tps on but I can't replicate that with MS2.

Where do both of you have it mounted? Against the firewall?

This is the only reason I'd want to get rid of it, for a little more space. Especially since I'm going turbo now if anything is not being used in the engine bay I'd like to get rid of it.

And I wish I could find that thread, that seems interesting. I've some threads where people use a valve from an eta I think that has no electric trigger but I haven't seen a setup like that posted about anywhere.
            Thanks,

I'm going to use a mechanical one from an early 325, part #19 below. pn 11631707770

I bought it from pelican mid september and received it last week so I havent had a chance to test it. Its pretty much just a check valve. They had to order it from Germany.
